Hmmm--I was gonna reply to Rose, but the system won't let me...really; it keeps saying "error...must log in..." and then promptly fogets I've just done so...? Anyone else ever have this happen?

Bottom line: yep, I, perhaps thankfully, don't even know some of those tunes either! And, how, just how, "Bridge over trouble waters" not been on this thing?

Well, okay, maybe that's not one officially, but it was for me in the late 60s...yikes. Kodachrome is another. CRAP!

I guess it depends on when you were listening, but I think ALL in our age group agree about SWTHeaven...Gawd.

I've gotten that error message, too. If you log in, it doesn't remember it, and it will keep saying that until you reply to another post.

Here's a list of "radio's most played songs of all time." They're mostly AM super-oldies, though, and consequently don't seem "overplayed" to me cuz they're in the grade school nostalgia category. "Killing Me Softly with His Love" (over 5 million plays) was pretty tedious, but "Born Free" (over 4 million plays)? Nah, who wouldn't want to hear that?

The only semi-recent one (in my distorted book, anyway) seems to be "Every Breath You Take" by the Police, which I don't like and consequently feel was overplayed immediately. And "Don't Stop" by Fleetwood Mac was Please Stop way before Clinton.

However, the BBC says the most-played song of all time is A Whiter Shade of Pale.

And pathetically, just to show my age, the ONLY SONG I know on Apple's Most Downloaded Tunes of All Time list is by ... Journey. Seriously, I have never heard of any of the other ones; are they just as bad as Journey?
